Hey, look! We have a new submissions manager from the wonderful people at Submishmash that is very fun and easy to use!
Submit to East Bay on the Brain
We would love to see amazing writing from East Bay writers who are interested in participating in the next EBOB, which will occur sometime in November, maybe the 13th or 20th … Saunter on over to the pages listed on the right side of the site. There’s one that says “Submissions.” That is where you will submit!
If you have any video of previous readings, it would be so incredibly great if you would include a link. This is totally not necessary. We’d love to include first-time or otherwise non-experienced readers. It is just nice to see you, if possible.
We look forward to checking out your stuff. Thanks!

Two weeks …
The next EBOB event is fast approaching, and it’s another you’re going to want to attend. NEED to attend. Because it will feature incredible readings by East Bay writers at the best bar in the East Bay and you’ll meet lots of other cool people who appreciate hearing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and maybe even some etcetera created on East Bay soil. Or carpet. Perhaps hardwood floors. Seriously, look at this list.

The Layover Rocks the East Bay
Congratulations to The Layover, EBOB’s beloved venue, for being named Best New Bar by the East Bay Express!! EBOB wholeheartedly agrees with the acknowledgement: “This place is the real deal.”
EBOB to co-host Litquake epicenter party
Litquake, Diesel, a Bookstore, and EBOB will co-sponsor a Litquake Epicenter party, a free, informal gathering for the literary-minded, on Sunday, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Rockridge drinking hole and eating place, Ben ’N Nick’s.
Diesel, a Bookstore in Oakland (www.dieselbookstore.com) is known for its selection of new and used titles, author events, enthusiastic and diverse staff, and for its urban California aesthetic.
You’re familiar with EBOB, right?
Learn about Litquake at www.litquake.org. The details of this enormous, fantastic Bay Area literary festival will blow your mind. Seriously, wear a helmet or something.

Welcome to East Bay on the Brain!
EBOB is a reading series featuring writers who live in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. There are beautiful and beautifully ugly words over here, on the other side of the Bay Bridge, and people want to hear them! EBOB hopes to collaborate with others in the East Bay to assume a more visible presence in the Bay area literary community.
